A High pressure steam cleaning and extraction system can get your concrete much cleaner than and ordinary pressure washer system. Grease and grime will not be effectively cleaned and removed with high pressure steam alone. The concrete will typically look much cleaner but much of the grease and other stains will not be removed. Degreasers and other cleaning chemicals can not typically used with these type of pressure washer systems because large amounts of cleaning products will be forced down storm drains into the environment. The practice of flowing cleaning products down into storm drains is also illegal in most states.

When cleaning indoor concrete or in tightly controlled outdoor areas a pressure washer cleaning system can make a big mess and get dirty water all over. If the indoor areas do not have a drain in the floor then it is impractical to use a pressure washer system for cleaning concrete. In these cases a high pressure steam cleaning and extraction system works is the best option available.

High pressure steam cleaning and extraction tools use high pressure steam but also use a powerful suction system to extract away the dirt, grease, grime and cleaning chemicals. The steam cleaning and extraction system will allow you to first use concrete cleaners and degreasers to cut through the dirt grease and grime. Then the high pressure steam cleaning tool can be used to apply the high pressure steam while it extracts the dirt, grease, grime and cleaning chemicals away. Using a steam cleaning/extraction system this way will ensure you get your concrete floors to their cleanest possible state. Additionally there will be no over spray of water and steam and you will be protecting the environment as well.

Most specialized tile and hard surface cleaning companies have high pressure steam cleaning and extraction systems that can be used for cleaning concrete floors. The brushed ring attachment on the bottom of the cleaning tool will also serve to scrub the concrete as well. The ability to use cleaning products and degreasers will make a big difference in the cleaning results. Grease and grime from cars and vehicles can not be effectively cleaned without first being broken down and dissolved with a high powered degreaser. To get even cleaner results an acidic concrete cleaner can then be used to brighten up the concrete and make it look almost like new again.

Sealing the concrete after it has been effectively cleaned is also important. For many areas of concrete it is important that it looks clean and new. For these areas a high quality concrete sealer should be used to protect the concrete from dirt, grease and grime being absorbed by the concrete. This will protect to concrete from becoming stained and discolored over time and also make cleaning easier the next time around. For indoor concrete floors a polyurethane sealer can also be applied to further protect the concrete and provide a shiny reflective finish.
