An effective pool tile cleaning solution needs to be in some type of gel form so it can stick to the vertical pool walls and dwell on the pool tiles. You should apply the cleaning gel to the pool tiles with a scrub pad or scrub brush. As you apply the cleaning gel you should scrub the cleaning gel all over the pool tiles and grout to ensure that all of the pool tiles and grout are thoroughly saturated with the pool tile cleaning gel. Apply the cleaning gel to small sections of the pool tile and let it dwell there for 10-15 minutes to react with the scale build up on the pool tiles.

After the pool tile cleaner has dwelled on the pool tiles for about 15 minutes you should scrub the pool tiles with a scrub pad to remove all of the hard water, limestone and calcium stains on the pool tiles. You should keep scrubbing the pool tiles until you remove all of the calcium deposits and stains from the pool tiles. Work in small sections so you do not let the pool tile cleaner dry on the pool tiles. You will probably have to do some extra scrubbing on the grout lines to remove all of the calcium deposits that have embedded themselves in the grout lines. It can also help to use a razor blade scrapping tool to scrape away the stubborn stains and deposits from the tile surfaces and grout lines.

After you are done scrubbing and scraping the tile and grout then rinse the tile and grout with a sponge and bucket of water. Although the pool tile cleaning gel is made for cleaning pool tiles you should try to keep it out of the swimming pool as much as possible. Try to wring out the sponge in the bucket of water and wipe down the pool tiles repeating this process until all of the pool tile cleaner and scale deposits have been removed from the tiles and grout. It is important to totally rinse away all the excess cleaner and the removed calcium deposits from the the tile surface. You may have to rinse the tiles a few times to ensure that you have removed every trace of scale and cleaning residue from the tiles and grout. You should then dry the tiles with a dry cotton towel or some paper towels.

Usually it is only after you have totally dried the pool tiles and grout surfaces that you can assess how clean the swimming pool tiles and grout have gotten. Many times residual calcium and lime stains will only appear after the tiles have been dried. You sometimes can scrape away the residual deposits with a razor blade tool. Other times it is necessary to re-clean the tiles with the pool tile cleaning gel. It sometimes takes intense scrubbing on the tiles and particularly the grout lines to totally clean up all the calcium and lime build up.

After you have totally cleaned you pool tiles you can fill up your pool and enjoy you newly cleaned swimming pool.
